Jutyar Ashrafzadeh, a resident of Piranshahr arrested during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement and subsequently sentenced to prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has been arrested and transferred to Naghadeh Central Prison to serve his prison sentence.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Jutyar Ashrafzadeh was arrested after being summoned to the court for the execution of sentences in Piranshahr. He was then transferred to Naghadeh Central Prison to commence his 21-month sentence.

Jutyar Ashrafzadeh, a detainee of the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement in Piranshahr, was initially sentenced to three years in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Piranshahr in September, charged with "gathering and collusion against national security." However, the Court of Appeal later reduced this verdict to 21 months of imprisonment.

It is important to note that Mahosh Tawasali, Jutyar Ashrafzadeh's wife, received a two-year house arrest sentence with electronic cuffs from the same court on charges of propaganda against the regime.

Both Mahosh Tawasali and Jutyar Ashrafzadeh were arrested at their home on Thursday, October 20, 2023, during the popular protests in Piranshahr. They were subsequently released from prison by posting bail temporarily pending the conclusion of legal proceedings.
