The identity of Hamza Barzegar, a 21-year-old resident of Javanroud, has been confirmed, bringing the total number of identified detainees on charges of "expressing joy over Iran's football team's loss to Qatar" to three.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, intelligence forces in Javanroud detained 21-year-old Hamza Barzegar and transferred him to an undisclosed location.
Hengaw had previously reported the detention of two other minors, Mohammad Mahmoudi, 16, and Mohammad Yousefi, 17.
Based on reliable information obtained by Hengaw, at least 10 minors in Javanroud have been detained in recent days for expressing joy and celebrating the loss of the national football team of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the national team of Qatar, with their custody status remaining unclear.
