Arrest of Sarina Jahani for Incarceration Sentence in Tehran

A 20-year-old individual identified as Sarina Jahani, residing in Shahriar (Tehran province), who was arrested concurrently with the commemoration of Jina Amini and sentenced to 27 months of detention, has been transported to Evin prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on February 5th, 2024, Sarina Jahani from Shahriar was arrested and relocated to Evin prison in Tehran to serve her 27-month detention sentence.

Reported by a family member of Sarina Jahani, she was sentenced to 21 months of detention for the charge of "coalition and consensus against national security" and an additional 6 months for "propaganda against the government" in the 1st branch of the Shahriar revolutionary court, presided over by Judge "Barjasteh."

Sarina Jahani was arrested on September 16, 2023, by security forces. After spending 19 days in solitary confinement, she was initially held at Qarchak Varamin prison. Later, she was transferred to Evin prison and eventually released on bail on November 6, 2023, pending the conclusion of her trial.
