Lawyer Arrested in Urmia

Hengaw: A Kurdish lawyer in Urmia was arrested by Intelligece Forces of the city.

On Tuesday, January 8, Masoud Shams Nezhad, a well known Kurdish lawyer was arrested by Intelligence Forces of Urmia, according to the report of Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights.

" Mr. Shams was arrested while he had attended a court session. The Intelligence Forces inspected his office and house and confiscated his personal stuff after arresting him", said a source with information.

Masoud Shams is being kept at Urmia's Intelligence Office lockup, now.

He had been arrested in 2014 before and jailed for 2 months at the Intelligence Office's lockup. Later he was released on a bail worths 1 billion tomans.
