Kurdistan protests— 10 more Kurdish women’s rights activists arrested in various cities of Iranian Kurdistan

 According to Hengaw, during the past few days, at least 10 women’s rights activists named Soheila Mota'i, Sarina Hosseini, Delania Khani, Zahra Babamohammadi, Ziba Qelijkhani, Zila Hejbari, Sara Samavati, Pariya Ebadi, Masoumeh Rashidi, and Mahshid Khani have been arrested by the Iranian security forces.


 According to the report received by the Hengaw human rights organization, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at least 3 women’s rights activists from Dehgolan, named Delnia Khani, Soheila Moatai, and Sarina Hosseini, were arrested by the Iranian security forces and transferred to an unknown location.


 On the other hand, Zahra Babamohammadi from Qorveh and Ziba Qelijkhani from Bijar was arrested on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, during the protests in these two cities. They are currently in custody in Sanandaj’s Correctional Center.

 

Also, three other women named Sara Samavati, Pariya Ebadi, and Masoumeh Rashidi, from Sanandaj who are teachers, were arrested during the protests and are currently in custody in Sanandaj’s Correctional Center.

 

 Hengaw has been informed that Mahshid Khani, one of the women’s rights activists from Ilam, who was arrested, is still in custody and is locked up in the women's ward of Ilam Central Prison.

 

 Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, during the recent protests in various cities of Iranian Kurdistan, nearly 100 Kurdish women’s rights activists have been arrested by the Iranian security institutions, and so far the identity of 75 of them has been confirmed for Hengaw.
