Hengaw : The number of recent detainees in Iranian Kurdistan is increasing that averagely 5 Kurdish citizens have been detained daily by the security services of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 According to a report received by Hengaw  Hengao Human Rights Organization, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, following the detention of 3 Kurdish citizens in  Piranshahr district of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province in Iranian Kurdistan, another citizen, identified as Pishtiwan Nabi Zargatan, 37-year-old , was detained  by Iranian security forces in this city And transferred him to an unknown location.

 Also on Thursday, January 21, 2021 , a Kurdish citizen from  Bukan district of West Azerbaijan(Urmia) province , identified as "Muhyaddin Shameh", was detained  by Iranian security forces and transferred to an unknown location.  

 The reason for the arrest of these two citizens has not been clarified by Iranian security agencies and their whereabouts are still unknown.
At least 19 other people were detained in Bukan  on Tuesday.

 Yesterday, a Kurdish citizen from Saqqez, identified as Atta (Shamal) Rahmanzadeh, was also  detained by Iranian security forces.

 Thus, according to the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documentation  Data Center of Hengaw  Human Rights Organization, during the past  two weeks, at least 67 Kurdish citizens in the cities of Bukan, Mahabad, Rabat, Piranshahr, Naghadeh , Saqqez , Baneh, Marivan, Sanandaj,  Kalatarzan, Sarvabad and Kermanshah have been detained by the security services of the Islamic Republic of Iran, five of whom have been released and 62 are still in custody.

 Faraz Firuzi, Hengaw’s legal advisor, said that : "In recent detentions, the minimum domestic law of the Islamic Republic of the right of access to a lawyer, immediate notification of the charge, the detention facility, and the location of detention have not been observed."  
The prosecutor at the detention center has legal responsibility for the lives and health of these detainees , said Mr. Firuzi.
