Omid Mazloum, brother of executed Kurdish political prisoner Mohsen Mazloum, re-arrested

Omid Mazloum, the brother of executed Kurdish political prisoner Mohsen Mazloum, has been arrested for the second time by security forces of Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Omid Mazloum, a 40-year-old resident of the village of Atmish in Mahabad, was detained on Sunday, November 17, 2024, by agents from the Ministry of Intelligence without an arrest warrant.
He was previously arrested on July 25, 2023, before the execution of his brother, Mohsen Mazloum. He was temporarily released on bail of 1 billion tomans after several days of detention.
Mohsen Mazloum, along with three other Kurdish political prisoners—Mohammad Faramarzi, Pejman Fatehi, and Vafa Azarbar—was executed on January 29, 2024, in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj after 18 months of enforced disappearance. The authorities have yet to return their bodies to their families.
