Death sentence of six prisoners carried out in Isfahan, Yasuj, and Tabriz Prisons

The death sentences of six prisoners convicted on charges of “drug-related offenses” and “premeditated murder” were carried out in the central prisons of Isfahan, Tabriz, and Yasuj. The executed individuals were identified as Sadeq Asadi, Khalil Hassanzadeh, Abdullah Panahi, Rasoul Ebrahimi, Jaber Ansari, and Ashkan Fathi.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in Isfahan Central Prison, also known as Dastgerd Prison, two prisoners—Jaber Ansari and Ashkan Fathi—were executed at dawn on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Both they were convicted of “premeditated murder.”
Three executions took place in Tabriz Central Prison on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Khalil Hassanzadeh (33) and Abdullah Panahi (62), both convicted of “premeditated murder,” were executed along with Rasoul Ebrahimi, who was convicted on “drug-related offenses.”
According to informed sources, Mr. Hassanzadeh had been in detention for four years, Mr. Panahi for six years, and Mr. Ebrahimi for approximately three years before their executions.
On the same day, December 3, 2024, Sadeq Asadi (40) was executed in Yasuj Central Prison. He had been convicted of the “premeditated murder” of a relative and had spent five years in detention prior to his sentencing and execution.
As of the time of this report, state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not announced these executions.
