Four more put to death within days across Iranian prisons

The death sentences of four prisoners, including one Lor and a Turkish man, were carried out in recent days at the central prisons of Khorramabad, Zanjan, and Karaj. The executed prisoners were identified as Sherzad Zamani, Homayoun Amjadbeigi, Hamed Arzhangi, and Amirhossein Mohammadi. They had previously been convicted on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offenses.”
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Zamani, a 32-year-old Lor from Khorramabad and father of a young child, was executed at dawn on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Khorramabad Central Prison. He had been arrested four years earlier on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death.
On the same morning, Arzhangi, a 30-year-old man from Karaj, was executed in Karaj Central Prison. He had been convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to “Qisas” (retribution in kind), following his arrest four years ago.
Earlier, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, Amjadbeigi, a Turkish man from Zanjan, was executed in Zanjan Central Prison. He had been in prison for three years on drug-related charges before being sentenced to death.
At dawn on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Mohammadi, a resident of Tehran, was executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. He had been convicted of premeditated murder.
None of the executions have been officially acknowledged by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated news outlets.
