Executions of three prisoners carried out in Ahvaz, Isfahan, and Yasuj

The death sentences of three prisoners—Hashem Mirzaei, Arman Khanbeigi, and Nader Mostafavi— were executed in the prisons of Ahvaz, Isfahan, and Yasuj. The men had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on separate charges related to drug offenses.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Khanbeigi, a 29-year-old Turk from Marand, East Azerbaijan Province, was executed at Isfahan Central Prison.

On the same day, Mostafavi, a 42-year-old Lor man and father of two, was executed at Yasuj Central Prison. He had been detained three years prior on drug trafficking charges and sentenced to death. Mostafavi was a resident of Yasuj.

Earlier that week, at dawn on Sunday, May 18, 2025, Mirzaei, a 29-year-old Arab from Ahvaz, was executed at the city's Sepidar Prison.

All three prisoners had been arrested approximately three years ago and sentenced to death in separate drug-related cases.

No official announcement regarding these executions has been made by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
