Five prisoners executed in Shiraz and Zanjan

Five prisoners were executed in the central prisons of Shiraz and Zanjan. The inmates were sentenced to death in separate cases on charges including drug offenses, premeditated murder, and rape.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, four executions were carried out at Adelabad Central Prison in Shiraz at dawn on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Those executed were Teymour Pouladvand, a Lor from Aligudarz in Lorestan Province, convicted of drug trafficking; Nezam Moradi, 34, from Mashhad and father of one, convicted of premeditated murder; Mahmoud Dehghan from Shiraz, also convicted of premeditated murder; and Ali Akbar Younesi, 30, from Jahrom in Fars Province, convicted of rape.

In a separate case, Jafar Ezzati, a 40-year-old Turkish man from Zanjan, was executed at dawn on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Zanjan Central Prison. He was convicted on drug-related charges.

None of these executions have been officially reported by Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
