10 Prisoners executed in Ghezel Hesar and Miandoab Prisons

The death sentences of at least 10 prisoners, including two Kurdish, two Turkish, one Baloch, and one Afghan individual, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Miandoab Prison. The individuals had been convicted of charges including premeditated murder and drug-related offenses.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, early Wednesday morning, December 11, 2024, four prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison—Ahmad Jahankhani from Karaj, Sirus Ahmadi from Kermanshah, Meysam Kargar from Ilam, and Hassan Yousefi from Tehran—were executed. All had been sentenced to death for premeditated murder.
In the same prison, four other individuals—Rahman Sarlak from Aligudarz (Lorestan Province), Nasser Shahouzehi (Takhshi) from Zahedan, Iman Moghadam from Varamin, and an Afghan national identified as Abdullah Tajik—were executed after being convicted of drug-related charges.
Hengaw sources confirmed that Masoud Jalilian from Kermanshah and Hassan Mansouri from Kuhdasht, who were also transferred to solitary confinement, were not executed. Both had been sentenced to death for drug offenses.
Simultaneously, two Turkish prisoners, Sajjad Azizi and Ebrahim Valizadeh, were executed in Miandoab Central Prison. Residents of Nasir Kandi village in Miandoab County, they had been convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death by the Miandoab Criminal Court.
At the time of this report, the execution of these 10 individuals has not been announced by state-run media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
