Five environmental activists were arrested in Marivan by Iranian forces

Azad Rouhi, Laigh Ahmadi, Sarkawt Ebadi, Alan Ardashiri, and Delir Mohammadi, five environmental activists from Marivan, were arrested by the authorities of the city in the past few days, and their condition and whereabouts are unknown.
According to a report received by the Henagw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday evening, August 3, 2023, three environmental activists from Marivan, Azad Rouhi, Laigh Ahmadi and Sarkawt Ebadi were arrested by the Intelligence Department forces.
According to creditable source, during the arrest of these three environmental activists in Marivan, an extreme violence took place by the Iranian forces. In the meantime, Azad Rouhi and Laigh Ahmadi have previously been arrested by government institutions.
Additionally, on Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023, the 32-year-old graduate of electrical engineering, Delir Mohammadi, from Balak village in Marivan, and Alan Ardeshiri, a 32-year-old environmental activist from Marivan city, were violently arrested by the Intelligence Department at their residences.
Before, referring to the violent arrest and intimidation of these two environmental activists, Hengaw indicated: Alan Ardeshiri's mother suffered from a heart attack and was taken to the hospital after the night raid of the Intelligence Department forces on their residence.
Until further notice, there is no information about the charges against Azad Rouhi, Laiq Ahmadi, Sarkot Ebadi, Alan Ardashiri, and Delir Mohammadi, as well as their conditions in detention and their whereabouts.
The arrest of this environmentalist comes at a time when an enormous fire has engulfed the forests around Marivan in the past few days, and environmental organizations and activists in the city are trying to control the fire with their bare hands, despite the obstacles of the government institutions. It should be noted that several of them were injured during the fire and taken to medical centers.
