Calndestine Execution of a Prisoner in Shiraz Central Prison

The execution sentence of a prisoner identified as Alireza Marzban, who had previously been sentenced to death for the charge of murder, was carried out clandestinely in Shiraz Central Prison (Adel Abad).

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on April 7, 2024, the execution sentence of Alireza Marzban, a 27-year-old resident of Shiraz, was executed in Adel abad Prison (Shiraz Central Prison).

This individual was arrested approximately three years ago following an altercation on charges of first-degree murder and was convicted with a death sentence shortly afterwards.

According to an informed source, Alireza Marzaban was executed clandestinely, without the afforded right to a final visitation with his family.

As of the publication of this report, government-affiliated media outlets, notably those linked with the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have not covered this execution.
