Father of a Teenage Slain Protester, Detained in Tehran

Saeed Farrokhipour, the father of Amir Mehdi Farrokhipour, a teenage protester who was killed in the Women, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, has been detained by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, April 1, 2024, Saeed Farrokhipour, the father of the deceased Amir Mehdi Farrokhipour, was detained at his son's gravesite in Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in Tehran by the security forces.

Informed sources state that this individual was transferred to an undisclosed location after being detained by the security forces of the Islamic Republic, and his whereabouts and legal status are still ambiguous.

Amir Mehdi Farrokhipour, a 17-year-old teenager, was targeted by the security forces with direct gunfire during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Laleh Park, Tehran, on September 27, 2022, and lost his life the following day.
