Nine inmates sentenced to death were executed in Iran in one day

The execution sentences of nine prisoners, including six Baloch prisoners and a Kurdish prisoner along with an Afghan national previously sentenced to death for drug trafficking, were carried out in Kerman Central Prison, Ghezel Hesar Prison, and Chabahar Prisons in Karaj.
According to reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on the early morning of Sunday, April 21st, 2024, the execution sentences for Ahmadreza Miri, 34 years old, from Zabol, Shamsaldin Kashani, 53 years old, and Shokat Shahbakhsh, both from Zahedan, along with a Kurdish prisoner, Jamal Mardani, 54 years old, from Miandoab, West Azerbaijan province, were implemented. The identity of another Baloch inmate also executed is under investigation.
As reported by the “Haalvsh” news agency, these six prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement on Friday for the execution of their death sentences and had their last visit with their families yesterday.
At the same time, two other Baloch inmates, by the names of Saaid Jadgal (30 years old) and Mohammad Anjomrooz (33 years old), both from Dashtyari in Sistan and Baloucchistan province, were executed in the central prison in Chabahar.
Furthermore, the execution of two prisoners, Alireza Shahbaz, 38 years old, from Tehran, and Abdulbari Pashtu, an Afshan national, both of whom were also sentenced to death for drug trafficking, was carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
These two inmates, both married and with children, were transferred to solitary confinement yesterday for the execution of their death sentences.
As of the time of compiling this report, the execution of these nine inmates has not been announced in government-affiliated media, especially media outlets close to the judiciary.
