Landmine Explosion Claims Victim in Saqqez, Kurdistan; 6 Kurds Injured or Killed in Less Than a Month

A Kurdish individual named Keyvan Hermidoli fell victim to a landmine explosion in the village of Hermidol within the vicinity of Saqqez, Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province, and was subsequently transported to local medical facilities.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the victim, identified as Keyvan Hermidoli, aged 31, sustained injuries as a result of the blast while engaging in the collection of wild herbs in Hermidol village. The severity of his injuries was not specified.

Keyvan Hermidoli, who is married and a father, underwent surgery at Shafa Hospital in Saqqez and is currently reported to be in stable condition, according to informed sources.

Based on the data compiled by the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw, within the past month, at least two Kurds have lost their lives in landmine explosions, with four others sustaining injuries.
