Kurdish Trader Fatally Shot by Iranian Border Guards

At the Choman border of Baneh, Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province, young Kurdish trader Moein Tawfiqpour lost his life due to direct fire from Iranian Border Guards.
 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Iranian Border Guards stationed at the Choman border of Baneh fired upon a vehicle owned by Moein Tawfiqpour, 24 years old, resulting in his untimely demise.

According to a reliable source, Moein Tawfiqpour, aged 24 and married, hailed from the village of Choman. He was fatally shot by Iranian Border Guards wielding AK-47 rifles while inside his Toyota vehicle, allegedly without prior warning, on grounds of suspected illegal goods transportation.
