Number of Executed Female Prisoners in Iran Rises to 10 in Less Than 5 Months

With the execution of Fatemeh Abdollahi, a woman from Neyshabur in Khorasan Razavi province, the number of women executed in Iranian prisons since the beginning of this year (less than 5 months) has reached 10.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday morning, May 18, 2024, the death sentence of a 27-year-old female prisoner named Fatemeh Abdollahi was carried out in the central prison of Neyshabur for premeditated murder.
According to informed sources, Fatemeh Abdollahi was arrested three years ago on charges of premeditated murder of her husband and sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, since the beginning of 2024 (less than 5 months), at least 10 women have been executed in various prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
