Iranian Authorities Arrest Five Kurds in Oshnovieh

Security agencies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have arrested five Kurdish men in Oshnavieh, West Azerbaijan Province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, Salim Zol-Qarneyn and Saber Zol-Qarneyn, residents of the village of Hassan Nuran in the Oshnavieh (Sheno) district, were arrested by security forces at their home without any judicial warrant and with the use of violence. They were subsequently taken to an unknown location.

Previously, three other men identified as Mohammad Rasulpour, Edris Karsaz, and Kamal Oqabi were also arrested in Oshnavieh.

As of the release of this report, no detailed information is available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against them, or the current status of these five individuals.
