Two Kurdish Men Arrested by Iranian Authorities to Serve Prison Sentences

Osman Delsouz, 66 years old, and his nephew Hazhār Delsouz (Abdul-Rahim), residents of Piranshahr, who were recently sentenced by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran to two years of imprisonment each, were arrested to serve their prison sentences and transferred to the central prison in Naqadeh.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, each of the 66-year-old Osman Delsouz and 30-year-old Hazhār Delsouz were arrested after being summoned to the Piranshahr enforcement office and were transferred to the central prison in Naqadeh to serve their two-year sentences.

Osman Delsouz and Hazhār Delsouz, along with Akam Khezrzadeh, were sentenced in a joint case in May this year by the Piranshahr Criminal Court Branch 102 of Islamic Republic of Iran on the charge of "membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan" to two years of imprisonment each.

Osman Delsouz, Hazhār Delsouz, and Akam Khazrzadeh were all three arrested by Iranian intelligence officers on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, and after two months, they were temporarily released on heavy bail until the end of the judicial process.
