Kurdish Man, Salam Khidranjad Arrested by Iranian Security Forces in Piranshahr

A Kurdish man named Salam Khidranjad was arrested by the Iranian security forces in Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province, and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at approximately 4:00 AM on Monday, August 12, 2024, Salam Khidranjad, from the village of "Gardeban" in the Lajan area of Piranshahr, was detained by the Iranian Intelligence forces. The arrest was made without the presentation of any judicial warrants, and he was subsequently taken to an unknown location.

Informed sources report that the efforts of this citizen's family to ascertain his whereabouts have been unsuccessful, as Iranian security agencies have refused to provide them with any specific information.
