Bukan: Kurdish Activist Soran Karimi Arrested by Iranian Security Forces

Soran Karimi, a Kurdish activist from Bukan, West Azerbaijan (Urmia), has been arrested by the Iranian security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the Iranian security forces raided the home of 41-year-old Soran Karimi, a Kurdish activist residing in Bukan, and arrested him without presenting any judicial warrant.
According to a source close to the Karimi family, Soran Karimi, a father of two, was violently arrested by security forces in front of his children and subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
To date, there is no precise information on the reasons for the arrest, the charges against him, his fate, or his whereabouts, and the family's attempts to follow up on the matter have been fruitless.
