The Death sentences of four prisoners carried out in Dezful and Maragheh Prisons

The death sentences of two prisoners, Khaled Chenari and Abdolnabi Kolani, in Dezful Central Prison, as well as two other prisoners identified as Soleiman Maleki-Nejad and Hassan Dorostkar in Maragheh Prison, were carried out. These prisoners had been sentenced to death on charges of "premeditated murder" and drug-related charges.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, October 27, 2024, the death sentences of two Arab prisoners, Khaled Chenari, aged 30, and Abdolnabi Kolani, aged 26, were carried out in Dezful Central Prison.

An informed source reported that Khaled Chenari and Abdolnabi Kolani had both been arrested three years ago in a joint murder case and consequently sentenced to death. They were transferred from Ramhormoz Central Prison to Dezful Central Prison for the execution.

Additionally, at dawn on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the death sentence of a prisoner, Soleiman Maleki-Nejad, aged 35, from Shabestar in East Azerbaijan Province, was carried out in Maragheh Central Prison.

Previously, on the morning of Monday, October 21, 2024, the death sentence of another prisoner, Hassan Dorostkar, was carried out in the same prison.

Hassan Dorostkar had been arrested four years ago on murder charges, while Soleiman Maleki-Nejad had previously been arrested on drug-related charges, both later sentenced to death.

To date, the news of the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by the state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
