Iran: Farzad Moazami Goodarzi, Cousin of Slain November 2019 Protester, Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Farzad Moazami Goodarzi, from Borujerd and the cousin of Reza Moazami Goodarzi, who was killed during the November 2019 protests, has been sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the Iranian judiciary after six months of detention.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Farzad Moazami Goodarzi, a member of the families seeking justice, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by Branch 29 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Ali Mazloum, on charges of "assembly and collusion against the country's security."
Farzad Moazami Goodarzi was arrested by security forces in Borujerd on Thursday, April 4, 2024, and was later transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, also known as the Ministry of Intelligence detention center, where he has been held since.
Farzad Moazami Goodarzi had previously been arrested on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, by security forces and was transferred to Borujerd Prison after two weeks. During his first arrest, he was held for over a month and was eventually released temporarily after posting bail.
