Protest rapper Peyman Askarpour arrested by security forces in Izzy, Whereabouts remains unknown

Peyman Askarpour, a protest rapper from Izeh in Khuzestan Province, has been arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran for six days. His whereabouts and condition remain unknown.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Askarpour, a 31-year-old Bakhtiari dissident, was arrested by IRGC Intelligence agents on Monday, January 13, 2025, and taken to an undisclosed location. This followed a raid on his home the previous day, during which security forces confiscated personal belongings, including his mobile phone.
Efforts by his family and relatives to gather information about his fate have been unsuccessful, with authorities refusing to provide any updates.
This is not Askarpour’s first encounter with Iranian security forces. He has been arrested in the past for his critical activities and subjected to severe violence, including injuries to his ear and shoulder as a result of torture.
As of now, no details regarding the reasons for his detention, the charges against him, his location, or his condition have been disclosed.
