Two Balochs shot dead by security forces in South Khorasan

Two Balochs, identified as Amir Mahmoudi (Sanjarani) and Hossein Sarani-Rad, were killed by direct gunfire from the Iranian security forces at a checkpoint in Nehbandan County, South Khorasan Province. During the first ten days of this year, at least five Balochs have been killed by direct gunfire from government forces.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, Amir Mahmoudi (Sanjarani) and Hossein Sarani-Rad, both 30 years old and residents of Sahlabad, Nehbandan County, were shot dead near the Sahlabad checkpoint by security forces.
Sources indicate that despite inquiries by the families and relatives of these individuals, the relevant authorities have refused to provide a clear explanation, only claiming that drugs were allegedly discovered in their vehicle.
Based on statistics documented by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw, during the first ten days of 2025, at least five Baloch individuals have been killed by direct gunfire from state security forces in the cities of Sahlabad, Rudbar-e Jonubi, Mirjaveh, and Golshan, located in the provinces of Sistan-Baluchestan, South Khorasan, and Kerman.
