Ongoing arrest of Kurds: Four arrested in Sardasht and Piranshahr

Four Kurds, including a father and son, have been arrested by security forces in Sardasht and Piranshahr. The detainees have been identified as Hassan Hassannejad, Mohammad Amin Hassannejad (known as Mina), Rahim Alizadeh, and Keyvan Asaseh.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Rahim Alizadeh, a 27-year-old machinist from the village of Korbnav in Sardasht, was arrested at his workplace and transferred to a security detention center in Urmia.
Simultaneously, Mohammad Amin Hassannejad, a 31-year-old shop owner from the village of Sisir in Rabet District, Sardasht, was arrested at his shop. Security forces subsequently raided the home of Mohammad Amin’s sister, where they arrested his father, Hassan Hassannejad, aged 55. During the raid, the family’s home was thoroughly searched, and numerous personal belongings were confiscated by Intelligence forces.
Additionally, on Monday, January 20, 2025, Keyvan Asaseh, a young resident of Piranshahr, was also detained by security forces in the city.
As of now, no information has been provided about the reasons for these arrests, the charges against the detainees, or their current whereabouts.
