Delara Jahandideh was brutally murdered by her husband in Jahrom, a city in Fars province. The perpetrator’s motive for committing the crime was Delara’s decision to seek a divorce. She had been repeatedly threatened with murder and acid attacks, and despite a prior attempt on her life by her husband confirmed by forensic reports, no measures were taken to ensure her safety.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, Delara Jahandideh, a 38-year-old resident of Jahrom, succumbed to her injuries at Peymāniyeh Hospital two days after being transferred there. She had suffered a skull fracture caused by blows inflicted with a wooden object by her husband, identified as Kazem Mahmoudi.

On the night of Tuesday, February 25, Delara was severely injured by her husband in front of her parents’ home. The assault resulted in a crushed skull and fractures in both hands. The perpetrator fled the scene after committing the crime.

According to informed sources, Delara had been seeking a divorce for the past two months and had been repeatedly threatened with death and acid attacks by her husband.

Notably, approximately forty days before this incident, the perpetrator had attempted to murder Delara by strangling her, causing her to lose consciousness. She eventually regained consciousness after a period of being unconscious.

Despite this prior murder attempt and the presence of severe bruising on her neck, which was confirmed by forensic medical experts, no action was taken to ensure her safety.
