Prisoner executed in Khorramabad Central Prison

The death sentence of a Turkmen prisoner from Gonbad-e Kavus, Golestan province, identified as Hamidreza Shahmoradi, was carried out in Khorramabad Central Prison (Parsilon Prison). He had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, February 3, 2025, Hamidreza Shahmoradi, 39, from Gonbad-e Kavus was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison.

Sources familiar with the case stated that Hamidreza Shahmoradi was arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of reporting, state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not announced the execution.
