Uncle of Shaho Khezri, Kurdish victim of "Woman, Life, Freedom" protest crackdown arrested

Diako Khezri, a Kurdish man from Mahabad and the uncle of Shaho Khezri, a "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom) protester murdered in October 2022, has been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Diako Khezri, a 38-year-old resident of the village of Shilanabad in Mahabad County and a member of the Kurdish families seeking justice, was arrested at his home by intelligence forces and taken to an unknown location.

According to informed sources, the efforts of Diako Khezri’s family to obtain information about his fate and condition have so far been unsuccessful, as security agencies have refused to provide any answers.

As of the time of this report, there is no precise information available regarding the reasons for his arrest, or the charges against him.
