Kurdish man from Kamyaran held in uncertainty at Baneh Central Prison

Farzad Mardokhi, arrested during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement in Kamyaran, has been arrested again by security forces and is currently being held in Baneh Central Prison under uncertain legal circumstances.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 26-year-old Farzad Mardokhi, a resident of Dajian village in Kamyaran, is being detained without formal charges in Baneh Central Prison. He was transferred from the Intelligence Department’s detention center in Baneh to Baneh Central Prison on Wednesday, January 24, 2025.
A source close to Mardokhi’s family has reported that he is facing charges related to “entering or exiting the country through unauthorized border crossings.” Mardokhi was arrested by Intelligence forces in Baneh in early January 2025.
Additionally, on November 18, 2022, he was detained during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Kamyaran but was later released.
