Iranian border guards fatally shoot 18-year-old Kolbar near Marivan

An 18-year-old Kolbar, identified as Sirwan Khoshnamak, was shot and killed by Iranian border guards while carrying goods through a mountainous border area near the western Iranian city of Marivan on Monday, according to a human rights group. He was the second Kolbar killed by border guards in four days.
According information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human RIghts, Salah Khoshnamak, from the village of Duwmal near Marivan, was shot in the Viseh border area on July 6, 2026.
Iranian border guards opened fire on Khoshnamak at close range and without warning. He died at the scene.
On Friday, border guards also fatally shot 57-year-old porter Wazir Rahimi near the Nowsud border crossing. Rahimi, from the Shahu district of Ravansar, was a father of five.
