Hengaw – Wednesday, May 28, 2025

The judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued one-month pretrial detention orders for three Kurdish truck drivers — Sediq Mohammadi, Kawa Moradian, and Rezgar Moradi — who were arrested by Intelligence Ministry agents in Sanandaj on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court formally issued the detention orders. The three drivers have since been transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison.

Sources familiar with the case state that the arrests were directly linked to the drivers’ participation in a protest at the Sanandaj-Marivan junction and their involvement in the ongoing nationwide truck drivers’ strike.

In a related development, two additional drivers — Zanko Rostami and a man identified only as Hamed — were arrested by security forces in Dehgolan. There is no information available regarding their fate or current whereabouts.
