Kurdish man Mohammad Moeinpour remains detained without resolution after 20 days in Bukan

Mohammad Moeinpour, a 37-year-old Kurdish man from Bukan, has remained in detention for 20 days after being arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence forces. He is being subjected to physical and psychological torture.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Moeinpour was arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces on August 16, 2026, and transferred to Ward 2, a security section of Bukan Central Prison.

Moeinpour was initially detained on the charge of “propaganda against the state.” More recently, authorities have also accused him of “buying and selling weapons.”

Sources familiar with the case said bail was set at 5 billion tomans. Despite the bail amount having been secured, authorities have so far refused to release him.

Sources also reported that Moeinpour has been subjected to physical and psychological torture and is in poor condition. He has also been denied access to a lawyer.

20 days after his arrest, no clear information is available regarding his legal status or the course of his case, while his family’s efforts to obtain further information have yielded no results.
