Afshin Saedi transferred to Bukan prison to serve three-month sentence

Afshin Saedi, a Kurdish resident of Bukan, was arrested by security forces and transferred to the city’s central prison to begin serving a three-month prison sentence.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Saedi was arrested at his home on the evening of Saturday, May 31, 2025 by local security forces.

The Bukan Criminal Court had recently convicted Saedi on charges of “propaganda against the state,” sentencing him to three months of discretionary imprisonment.

This is not Saedi’s first encounter with Iranian authorities. On December 24, 2024, he was previously detained by agents of the Bukan Intelligence Department without the presentation of an arrest warrant.
