Ayoub Darbarzin detained by IRGC Intelligence, no news since arrest

Ayoub Darbarzin, a 35-year-old Kurdish bodybuilding coach from Marivan, was arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran after being summoned by the IRGC Intelligence Office in Marivan. Five days later, no information has been released about his fate or whereabouts.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Darbarzin was detained on Sunday, June 22, 2025, after being summoned by phone to the IRGC Intelligence Office. He was taken to an undisclosed location, and his current condition remains unknown.

Sources familiar with the case stated that Darbarzin was arrested just hours after sharing an Instagram story about the ongoing war between Iran and Israel.

No official charges have been announced, and there is no information regarding his legal status or place of detention.
