Nine Kurds from Urmia violently arrested on charges of collaboration with Israel

Nine Kurds from Urmia — identified as Ahmad Golestani, Mohammad Golestani, Behzad Golestani, Mohsen Golestani, Ehsan Golestani, Mehran Golestani, Farzad Mostafazadeh, Hamid Mostafazadeh, and Shoresh Mostafazadeh — all members of two families, were violently arrested by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, the nine individuals, residents of Nojevan village in the Somay and Bradost region of Urmia, were taken into custody.
Informed sources reported that IRGC intelligence agents severely beat the men before arresting them and later transferred them to one of the organization’s detention centers in Tehran.
The same sources stated that all nine have been accused of “collaboration with Israel.”
Four days after their arrest, there is still no information regarding their condition or exact place of detention, and the families’ efforts to obtain updates have remained unsuccessful.
