Fate of four Kurds arrested by Iranian Intelligence still unknown

Four Kurdish men—Naser Elyasi from Mahabad, Ayoub Khosrowzadeh from Bukan, Omid Abdikhah from Saqqez, and Hemin Ranjbar from Mariwan—have been arrested by agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry and transferred to undisclosed locations. Their fate and current status remain unknown.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, Elyasi, a resident of the village of Beytas near Mahabad, was arrested at his home by intelligence agents without the presentation of an arrest warrant. He was subsequently taken to an unknown location, and no information has been made available regarding his condition or whereabouts since.

Two days earlier, on Thursday, June 20, government forces arrested two other Kurds: Abdikhah from Saqqez and Ranjbar, 29, from Mariwan. Their location and legal status remain unclear.

In a separate incident, on Friday, June 20, Khosrowzadeh, 35, from Bukan, was arrested during a raid on his home by intelligence forces. He was also transferred to an unknown location, and no information has emerged regarding his situation eight days after his detention.

Sources confirmed that none of the arrests were accompanied by court warrants. The authorities have provided no information on the reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against the detainees, or their place of detention.
