Three Kurdish men — Bakhtiar Azizi, Afshin Azizi, and Kako Azizi — all members of the same family from Urmia, were violently arrested last Tuesday. Five days later, the fate of two of them remains unknown.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at 3:00 a.m. on June 24, 2025, brothers Afshin and Kako Azizi and their nephew Bakhtiar were arrested in Dizaj Margavar, a district of Urmia.

A source close to the family said that around 20 security vehicles surrounded their homes, stormed the residences, and violently arrested the three men, severely beating them during the raids.

Bakhtiar Azizi was released later that day, but the whereabouts and condition of his two uncles remain unknown.

Iranian authorities have provided no information about the reasons for their arrests, or any charges brought against them.
