Ongoing crackdown in Kurdistan: Five Kurdish men arrested in Marivan by security forces

Five Kurds from Marivan — Ahsan Osmani, Hamzeh Osmani, Abdollah Bakha, Omid Bakha, and Ramyar Rezaei — have been arrested by Iranian security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on June 29, 2025, security forces detained Ahsan Osmani (22), Hamzeh Osmani (24), Ramyar Rezaei (25), Omid Bakha (30), and Abdollah Bakha (35). All are residents of Darenakhi village, a district of Marivan.
Sources reported that security forces searched their homes during the arrests and threatened their family members.
No information is available regarding the reasons for their arrests, any charges against them, or their current whereabouts.
These arrests come amid a widespread crackdown across Iran following the recent war with Israel and the subsequent ceasefire, with Kurdistan facing intensified targeting.
