Mahabad: Four more Kurdish men arrested, total detentions reach 11

Four more Kurdish residents from Mahabad have been arrested by Iranian security forces, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The detainees include Khaled Bakri, 47, and Mohammad Bakri, 44, a father of two, along with Shaho Mahmoudi and Soran Safari.

The arrests were carried out without arrest warrants and involved violent raids and intimidation by security personnel.

Mohammad Bakri was previously arrested on December 30, 2024, and his brother Khaled was detained the day before. Both were released after a period in custody.

Hengaw had earlier reported the arrests of seven other Kurdish residents of Mahabad: Keywan Mama Guli, Omid Rash, As’ad Rasoulzadeh, Nouraddin Dudkanlu Milan, Soroush Youssefzadeh, Mehran Khedripour, and Pouria Nasiri — a law student at the Islamic Azad University of Mahabad.

There is no confirmed information about the reasons for the arrests, the current location of the detainees, or the charges filed against them.
