Attorney Yilmaz Mehrali Biglou arrested by intelligence forces in Jolfa

Yilmaz Mehrali Biglou, a Turkish attorney and resident of Jolfa, was arrested by agents of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrest took place on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Sources familiar with the case reported that following the arrest, intelligence agents raided the home of Biglou’s father and confiscated several of his personal belongings.

A prior interrogation session for Mehrali Biglou had been held on May 26, 2024, at Branch One of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Jolfa.

No information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, his current whereabouts, or the charges against him.
