Three Turkish civil activists detained simultaneously by Iranian forces

Siamak Mirzaei, Asghar Akbarzadeh, and Ali Vaseqi, three Turkish civil activists, were detained by Iranian security forces in coordinated arrests in Ardabil and Meshgin Shahr and transferred to undisclosed locations.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, security forces raided Mirzaei's family home in Meshgin Shahr, Ardabil Province, at around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, and arrested him without presenting a warrant.
At the same time, security forces detained Akbarzadeh and Vaseqi in the city of Ardabil.
The three activists were transferred to undisclosed locations following their arrests. The reasons for their detention, any charges against them, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
