Kurdish kolbar Barzan Salehi shot dead by Iranian Border Guards in Baneh

 Barzan Salehi, a 38-year-old Kurdish kolbar from Baneh, was shot dead by Iranian border regiment forces while transporting goods along the border. The shooting occurred without any prior warning from the security forces. 

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the incident took place on the night of Saturday, July 26, 2025, near the Siranband border area of Baneh. Salehi was directly targeted by border guards stationed at the outpost. 

Sources confirmed that Salehi was unarmed and posed no threat at the time of the shooting. 

Barzan Salehi was married and the father of three children.
