Two kolbars injured in Marivan – severe beating follows gunshot wounds

Hakim Mahmoudi, a kolbar from Marivan, was injured by direct gunfire from Iran’s border guard forces. At the same time, another kolbar from Sarvabad, identified only as Ata (last name unknown), was physically assaulted by the same forces after being shot.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Mahmoudi, a kolbar from the village of Viseh in Marivan County, was wounded by direct fire in the border highlands of the region.

Simultaneously, Ata, a 23-year-old kolbar from Sarvabad, was shot and subsequently subjected to a severe beating by government forces.
