Five Iranian police officers killed in armed clash in Iranshahr

Five members of Iran’s police forces were killed on Friday in an armed clash on the roads of Iranshahr, Sistan and Baluchestan Province. 

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, two vehicles carrying Iranian police forces came under attack at noon on Friday, August 22, 2025, by armed assailants in Iranshahr, resulting in the deaths of all five officers.

Shortly after the incident, the armed group Jaish al-Adl issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack, declaring that all personnel in the vehicles had been killed and their weapons seized.

Those killed were identified as Gholamreza Vahdani and Mohammad Reza Rahimi, both from Zabol; Hadi Royayi from Kerman; Mohammad Norouzi from Torbat; and Hassan Toli from Golestan.
