Faraja officer killed in armed attack in Sistan and Baluchestan

A member of Iran's Law Enforcement Command (Faraja) was killed in an armed attack carried out by unidentified gunmen in Sib and Soran County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the attack took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, when an unidentified armed group opened fire on the vehicle carrying Third Lieutenant Mohammad Palangi on a road in Sib and Soran County, killing him at the scene.

The Sistan and Baluchestan Police Information Center confirmed Palangi's death in an official statement.

No individual or armed group had claimed responsibility for the attack.
