Former political prisoner Mohsen Alizadeh arrested by IRGC Intelligence in Gachsaran

Mohsen Alizadeh Benari, a Lor resident of Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, has been arrested by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Alizadeh Benari was detained on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, when IRGC intelligence forces raided his home. He is among those arrested during the nationwide protests of November 2019.

A source close to his family told Hengaw that during the arrest, IRGC agents searched his house and confiscated several personal belongings, including his laptop and mobile phone.

Alizadeh Benari was previously arrested during the November 2019 protests and served time in prison. He has a history of arrests and prosecutions related to his political activities.

No information has yet been made available regarding the charges against him, the reasons for his arrest, or his current place of detention.
