Six prisoners executed in multiple Iranian prisons

The Iranian authorities have executed six prisoners in recent days in separate facilities across the country. Those executed were identified as Kourosh Sa’adati, Jahan Houshmand, Yaser Bakhshi, Mehran Sahraei, Manouchehr Shahbazi, and Arya Soltani. All had been convicted in separate cases on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses.”
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, September 29, 2025, Yaser Bakhshi was executed in Semnan after being sentenced to death on “drug-related charges.”
On Sunday, September 28, two men were executed in Shiraz: Mehran Sahraei, 30, from Isfahan, who had been arrested five years earlier on charges of “premeditated murder,” and Manouchehr Shahbazi, 33, from Kazerun, arrested four years ago in connection with an alleged “honor killing.”
That same day, Kourosh Sa’adati, 26, from Lahijan, was executed in Kashan. He had been arrested four years earlier on charges of “premeditated murder” for allegedly killing his cousin.
Earlier, on Wednesday, September 24, Arya Soltani, 28, from Shiraz, was executed after five years in detention on charges of “premeditated murder.” On the same day, Jahan Houshmand, 36, a Lor from Dezful, was executed in Ahvaz after six years in prison on charges of “premeditated murder.”
The executions of these six prisoners have not been reported in Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
